Paige Miles, who received kudos early on in the show was the last one cut before the final ten.
Simon Cowell had been a huge fan of the 24 year old's vocals, but in recent weeks Paige had fallen short in her performances.
Last week Miles suffered with laryngitis and was able to get through the show, but this week the combination of her being "pitchy and her poor song choice," according to the judges, set her up for the fall. Miles has said that she has been sick for three weeks and has a swollen vocal cord. The singer told USA Today:
"It's tough when you're in a singing competition and you have no voice. It affected my song choice because I steered away from what I would normally do, which is big belty numbers, such as All Right Now, which I love. And I shied away and tried to do something smaller in an effort to not overtax my cords."
